  • 2 cups Fresh Spinach Chopped, can substitute with frozen
  • 1 cup Artichokes Chopped, canned or jarred
  • 1 cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese Can use Pecorino Romano
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Softened, can substitute with ricotta
  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise Can use sour cream
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced, adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Adjust to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes Adjust to taste
For the Egg Wash
  • 1 large Egg Whisk with 1 tsp water

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Thaw the puff pastry sheet at room temperature for about 30 minutes until pliable and cut in half to create two rectangles.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine spinach, artichokes, Parmesan, cream cheese, mayonnaise, garlic, salt, and red pepper flakes. Mix well.
  4. Spread the filling evenly over one half of the puff pastry, covering to the edges, then place the other half on top.
  5. Cut the pastry into 6 equal strips lengthwise using a sharp knife.
  6. Twist each strip along its length and roll into a swirl shape, tucking the ends underneath.
  7. Whisk together the egg with water to create an egg wash and brush generously on each swirl.
  8. Bake the swirls in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Cool on a wire rack for about 5 minutes before serving warm.
