Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions for Easy Teriyaki Chicken
  1. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, honey or brown sugar, rice vinegar, water, minced ginger, and garlic. Whisk until smooth, then set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet.
  3. Sear chicken for 5 to 7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the chicken and stir to coat well, simmering gently for a few minutes.
  5. Mix cornstarch and a bit of water to create a slurry, then add to the skillet while stirring. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until sauce thickens.
  6. Remove from heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, and serve hot over rice or noodles.
