Ingredients

For the Shrimp
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined frozen is acceptable if fully thawed and dried
For the Sauce
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter creates a rich sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced fresh garlic for best flavor
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice adds brightness and acidity
For Garnish
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped brings freshness
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional, adjust based on spice preference
To Season
  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper or to taste

Equipment

  • large skillet

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. If using frozen shrimp, thaw them completely under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels to ensure good searing. Season the shrimp lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Allow the butter to foam for about 1 minute, monitoring the heat to prevent browning.
  3. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir gently for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side until pink, opaque, and curled.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice and parsley. Toss gently to coat each shrimp in the sauce.
  6. Transfer to a serving dish or plates. Drizzle extra garlic butter sauce over the top and serve immediately.
