Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Gather ingredients: 10 cups of filtered water, 1 large fresh pineapple, and 1 inch of fresh ginger root. Chop the pineapple and slice the ginger.
  2. In a large pot, combine the filtered water, chopped pineapple, and sliced ginger. Bring to a gentle boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 45 minutes with the pot covered.
  4. After 45 minutes, turn off the heat and stir in the lemon juice. Add optional sweetener to taste.
  5. Strain the tea using a fine mesh strainer into cups. Serve hot or chilled over ice, garnished as desired.
