Ingredients
  

For the Cabbage Rounds
  • 1 head Cabbage small head cut into thick slices
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil to brush on cabbage slices
For the Burger Patties
  • 1 pound Ground Beef or Turkey substitutable with ground chicken or plant-based option
  • 1 cup Onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce optional but recommended
  • 1 large Egg optional for binding
For Topping and Serving
  • 1 cup Cheese optional, for broiling on top

Method
 

Directions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the cabbage into thick rounds, brush both sides with olive oil.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ground meat, onion, garlic, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. If using, add the egg.
  4. Shape the mixture into patties the size of the cabbage rounds and place on the cabbage.
  5. Bake for approximately 25 minutes until cooked and the cabbage is tender.
  6. For optional cheesy topping, sprinkle cheese and broil for 3-5 minutes until melted.
  7. Let cool a few minutes, then serve with garnishes and sauces.
