  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey can substitute with maple syrup for vegan option
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce use low-sodium or tamari for gluten-free
  • 2 cloves minced garlic fresh preferred
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch optional thickener
For the Salmon
  • 4 fillets salmon wild-caught Pacific is ideal
  • 1 tablespoon butter can substitute with olive oil for dairy-free
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Method
 

Recipe Instructions
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter or olive oil. Allow the butter to melt completely and bubble, which should take about 1 minute.
  2. Generously season both sides of your salmon fillets with salt and pepper. Place the fillets into the hot skillet, skin-side up. Cook for 3-5 minutes, until golden brown.
  3. Carefully flip the salmon fillets using a spatula and lower the heat slightly. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
  4. Remove the salmon from the skillet and tent loosely with aluminum foil.
  5. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium-low and add orange juice, honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. If desired, add cornstarch and whisk until well combined.
  6. Let the glaze cook for 30-60 seconds until slightly thickened.
  7. Return the cooked salmon to the skillet and spoon the orange glaze over the top to coat them evenly.
  8. Transfer the Orange Glazed Salmon to serving plates, drizzling any remaining glaze from the skillet over each fillet.
