Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, combine lukewarm water, honey, and molasses. Stir gently until smooth.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together white bread flour, whole wheat flour, salt, brown sugar, cocoa powder, and yeast.
  3. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients, stirring until a shaggy dough forms. Incorporate softened butter and mix well.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and slightly tacky.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 to 2 hours until doubled in size.
  6. Deflate the dough, turn out onto a floured surface, divide into four pieces, and shape each into a cylinder.
  7. Cover the rolls and let rise for 40 minutes in a warm spot.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool rolls on the baking sheet for 15 minutes before serving warm.
