Ingredients

For the Tea Base
  • 1.5 cups Water Divided into 1 cup for brewing and 0.5 cup for blending
  • 2 bags Black Tea Bags Can substitute with herbal tea for a caffeine-free version
For the Mango Blend
  • 1 each Ripe Mango Or frozen mango cubes
  • 2 tbsp Honey Swap with maple syrup or agave for a vegan option
For Serving
  • Ice Consider freezing tea into ice cubes to avoid dilution

Equipment

  • Kettle or pot
  • blender
  • Fine sieve or strainer
  • tall glass

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by boiling 1 cup of water in a kettle or pot. Once boiling, remove it from heat and add in your black tea bags, allowing them to steep for about 3 minutes. Stir in 2 tablespoons of honey until fully dissolved, then set the tea aside to cool down to room temperature.
  2. While the tea cools, take your ripe mango and cut it into small chunks. Place the mango pieces in a blender with ½ cup of water and blend until you achieve a smooth puree.
  3. Using a fine sieve or strainer, pour the mango puree into a bowl or container to separate the juice from the pulp. Press with the back of a spoon to extract as much juice as possible.
  4. Grab a tall glass and fill it generously with ice. Pour the cooled black tea into the glass until it’s about two-thirds full, then top the tea with the freshly made mango nectar.
  5. Garnish your Homemade Mango Iced Tea with a few slices of fresh mango on the rim of the glass and add a sprig of mint if desired.
