Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a half sheet pan by greasing it or lining with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together 1 cup of softened salted butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add in 1 whole egg, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon of almond extract; beat until well combined.
  4. Gradually sift in 1 teaspoon of baking powder followed by 2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour; mix gently until a soft dough forms.
  5. Scoop out portions of dough (approximately 3 tablespoons each), roll them into balls, and flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass.
  6. Refrigerate the shaped dough for about 5 minutes, then bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden.
  7. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Beat together 8 ounces of softened cream cheese, ¼ cup of softened butter, and 2 cups of powdered sugar until smooth.
