  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice Use freshly squeezed for best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Maple Syrup Adjust to taste or use honey.
For Serving

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Bring 1 cup of water to a gentle simmer in a small saucepan. Add fresh sage leaves and steep for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add 1 cup of blackberries to the sage infusion. Increase heat to low simmer and gently mash blackberries for about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Strain the mixture into a heatproof container using a fine-mesh sieve. Sweeten with maple syrup and add 1 cup of chilled water and lemon juice.
  4. Transfer the tea to the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Fill tall glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled blackberry-sage tea over the ice.
  6. Garnish with extra blackberries, a sprig of sage, or a lemon slice.
