Step-by-Step Instructions for Maple Bourbon BBQ Salmon
  1. Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat (about 375°F) or 400°F for baking.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the pure maple syrup, bourbon, low-sodium soy sauce, minced garlic, and black pepper. Set aside half of the marinade.
  3. Place salmon fillets in a zip-top bag and pour half of the marinade over the fish. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  4. For grilling, place the marinated salmon skin-side down on the grill and brush with reserved marinade; cook for 5-6 minutes per side.
  5. For baking, line a baking sheet with parchment paper, place marinated salmon skin-side down, brush with reserved marinade, and bake for 12-15 minutes.
  6. Once the salmon is cooked, drizzle any remaining marinade over the top.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions; serve alongside grilled vegetables, rice, or a garden salad.
