Equipment

Method

Marinating and Cooking Steps
  1. Begin by marinating the sirloin steak in a mixture of mirin, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat until it's smoking hot, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Remove the sirloin from the marinade and place it in the hot skillet. Sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side until done.
  4. In the same skillet, add a touch more oil if needed, then toss in diced carrots, zucchini, and mushrooms. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Slice the rested steak into thin strips and add it back into the skillet with the veggies. Stir to combine.
  6. Prepare a bowl with fried rice as the base and spoon the steak and vegetable mixture on top.

Notes

For best results, marinate steak longer for deeper flavor and ensure high heat for a good sear. Store leftovers properly in airtight containers.
