- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup of flour and 1 cup of sugar until well combined.
- Using a microwave-safe bowl, melt ½ cup of unsalted butter in 30-second intervals, stirring after each burst.
- Add the freshly grated orange zest and ½ cup of orange juice to the dry ingredients. Mix until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the melted butter into the batter slowly, mixing thoroughly until everything is combined.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the batter for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with a Silpat or parchment paper. Pipe nickel-sized rounds of batter onto the baking sheet.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the cookies for approximately 10 minutes.
