Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or heat oil in a skillet. If baking, arrange corn tortillas on a baking sheet and brush with oil. Bake for 8-10 minutes until crispy. If frying, cook each tortilla for 1-2 minutes per side until golden.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add oil and sauté the diced onion for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Stir in the ground beef and season with chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, garlic powder, oregano, and black pepper. Cook for 6-8 minutes until browned.
  3. Spread a layer of refried beans on each tostada shell, then top with seasoned ground beef. Add chopped lettuce, crumbled queso fresco, and sliced avocado.
  4. Drizzle Mexican crema over each tostada, then add your choice of salsa or pico de gallo. Get creative and add other toppings if desired.
