- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Cook the ground beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat and set aside.
- Add chopped onions and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until soft and translucent.
- Combine the beef mixture with sautéed onions and garlic. Layer in the greased baking dish, top with sliced potatoes, seasoning evenly with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
- Sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan cheeses over the potato layer. Pour beef broth around the edges and drizzle optional milk on top.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley.
