Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Cabbage Roll Skillet
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it up with a spoon until it's nicely browned and no longer pink.
  2. Next, add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the skillet, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are soft and onions become translucent.
  3. Stir in the chopped cabbage, canned diced tomatoes, and all the spices: Tony Chachere's seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Mix everything thoroughly and cover the skillet.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and let simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until the cabbage wilts and flavors meld beautifully.
  5. After simmering, taste the Cabbage Roll Skillet to see if it needs any additional seasoning. Adjust spices as necessary.
  6. Finally, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the skillet, cover again and allow the cheese to melt for about 5 minutes on low heat.
