- Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cubed butternut squash and diced Gala apples. Add cinnamon, vanilla extract, and brown sugar, tossing until coated.
- Sprinkle salt and black pepper over the mixture, mixing thoroughly.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish. Dot with butter, cover with foil, and bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove from the oven, sprinkle with raisins, dried cranberries, and pecans, toss gently, cover, and return to the oven for another 15 minutes.
- Bake for an additional 15 minutes until the squash is tender and lightly browned.
