Step-by-Step Instructions for Brie and Cranberry Bites
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the chilled brie cheese into 24 equal cubes, keeping the rind intact, then refrigerate them.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle measuring about 10x15 inches and cut it into 24 squares.
  4. Press each pastry square into the cups of a mini muffin tin.
  5. Fill each pastry cup with a cube of brie and half to one teaspoon of cranberry sauce. Add optional nuts if using.
  6. Whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash, then brush the edges of each pastry.
  7. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden and puffed.
  8. Cool bites for a few minutes before transferring to a platter and garnish if desired.
