Preparation and Baking
- Slice the extra firm tofu into ½ inch thick squares and pat dry with a kitchen towel.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together maple syrup, liquid aminos, water, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Submerge the tofu squares in the marinade, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Bake the marinated tofu squares on the prepared sheet for 30 minutes until golden.
- Reduce the reserved marinade in a small saucepan over medium heat for about 10 minutes until thick.
- Baste the tofu with the glaze, flip them, and bake for an additional hour, basting every 30 minutes.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm over rice, in salads, or in wraps.
