Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 diced onion and cook for 5 minutes until translucent.
  2. Stir in 2 minced garlic cloves and sauté for an additional minute.
  3. Add 1 pound of ground beef, cooking until browned, about 6-8 minutes.
  4. Drain excess fat. Stir in 2 tablespoons of tomato paste and 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour.
  5. Gradually add 2 cups of beef broth, stirring continuously.
  6. Incorporate 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce and 1 teaspoon of dried thyme; simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  7. In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
  8. Cut in 1/4 cup of cold butter until resembling coarse crumbs, then stir in 3/4 cup of milk.
  9. Drop spoonfuls of dumpling dough over the beef mixture. Cover and reduce heat to low.
